Hi,
I want to put some BKP's in my PRS SE 7 string (mahogany with maple top, maple neck, rosewood 25" fretboard). Stock pickups were decent but a bit muddy on the 7th string.
I tune this guitar in A standard with an 11 gauge string set and I'm looking for a pup that as a clear defined bass response. I'm playing thrash metal and occasional metalcore/prog songs. Cleans not so much. I mostly use the bridge pickup with tone at 10 for rhythms and for leads I prefer the bridge+neck position. Amp is an Engl Savage.
So I have a Juggernaut set in my basswood Ibanez 7 that I like but I like to put something different in this guitar. I feel like the Juggernaut is a tad too bass heavy for my liking.
I also have a Cold Sweat set in my mahogany/maple/rosewood Eclipse that I like but I'm not sure if the CS 7 string set is what I'm looking for. There are not many reviews/clips of that pickup :)
Soooo I'm open to all suggestions and I will also consider the lower output pickups. Looking at Emerald, Cold Sweat, Impulse.
