The thing is, to get a Les Paul sort of sound out of a bright(ish) Strat, you're going to need more bottom end. That means you're going to need a hotter pickup because the light winds on PAF pickups lead to a brighter pickup. It's not by chance that the Warpig is so dark because it's the hot wind that helps to get you there. In this sense the Abraxas is a sensible choice by Ben because it's probably the nearest he can get to a PAF pickup while giving you more body to the tone. However, I would agree that the Crawler would be a better bet for what you're after. It certainly isn't a PAF humbucker but it does have quite a vintage feel to it and will give plenty body to your guitar. It's also incredibly versatile, has an awesome tone and the best splits you're ever likely to find. I don't usually repeat pickup purchases and I don't currently own any Bare Knuckles but I'd certainly have another Crawler, especially in a Strat. It really is a beautiful pickup and I'd say that out of all the bridge pickups I've tried from BKP, it's certainly my favourite.
