Thanks fellas, will probably go for Ceriatone then. At 1240 dollars (without shipping) this should be the cheaper and better option than getting a used 2203x and have it modded... I refuse to have an original 80's amp modified, I'd rather have a newer production amp with everything I need that's still made to last. Too many bad experiences with chinese amps failing, and still afraid my JCM 2000 won't last even if it's the English model. Looks like a computer from the inside with all the PCBs. My ENGL Savage 60 sounds great but needs a repair now and that's a 94 made in Germany model... PCB all the way as well.  :undecided:

My 1976 JMP50 is PCB as well, and it still works fine

True though, it is harder to work on than a turret board would be.

I find well made pcbs far easier to work on than turret boards usually because it requires far less heat and there's less solder to remove from a through hole plated Pcb than the is most turrets

that is true. what i don't like about PCBs is you have to lift them out to get to the underside, which often means alot of disassembly. theres stuff on the back of some turret boards of course, but I find it easier to swap out stuff.

Ah see what I mean by well made is through plated with thick traces like so.

You can remove things without lifting the board.
