I am looking into recording stuff (Mackie Spike, Mbox, Saffire, etc.) and I am not too sure what to go with. What do you all use? I am not a big-spender yet, but I am not a cheaparse either. Thanks, anything would be appreciated.

I have a Mackie 1202 mixer, a tube mic from t-bone (
www.thomann.de
), an Emagic 6/2 USB interface basically, and run it via a Powerbook/Logic Pro.
What I'm lacking at the moment is a Shure SM57 and a decent Mic Preamp, which is cruical to get a signal with pressure and detail (this should happen before the actual recording).

If you're going to be using your computer, the M-Audio Black Box is a great package.
