To add some comments in agreement of whats been said:

The Painkiller has alot of pick attack, probably the most in the BKP range. To be honest, I find it a bit too much.

The Aftermath doesn't have as pronounced an attack. The tone of the aftermath is very dry, with a full modern sounding mid range. I also believe it was designed with djent in mind, but I personally use it for a modern take on 80s metal. I don't think it would be a bad choice for technical death metal.

All versions of the warpig have smooth highs and big low end. The ceramic version makes the low end tight and adds some sizzle to the top end, but the pay off is lack of versatility. The original alnico version of the warpig sounds very nice clean and is usable for a variety of styles. I think if you're a tech death kind of guy, you wouldn't really care about cleans though.

Aftermath is ideal for that aplication IMO. It's a bit more balanced than PK maybe, and is tight af and doesn't sound tiny. It has a lot of attack too.

Whats about that tech doom   ?

I'm going for mainly lead playing for my setup here, and my guitar has an ash body. I'm still torn between the ceramic warpig or the painkiller. I'm talking sweeps and tight scale runs, and also tight rhythms.

My guitar won't release until October anyway, so I have time to research :)

I currently have a dimarzio X2n bridge: tonezone neck setup (the whole Michael Romeo thing) in my basswood prestige, but i'm also heavily considering just getting some BKP for it too.

I got ceramic nailbombs in my gibson SG and the thing is a BEAST, works very good for rhythm type styles like goth metal and doom. I'm looking for more of a lead setup now for my Ibanez (both my current basswood prestige and my new ash one)

Aftermath is avtually really good for leads IMO. It has a lot of low mids that help with it.

An even more important thing than the guitar in my opinion is the setup. What amp are you using? If you have something like a 5153 I'd go for the Cpig (my case), if your amp is darker, the Painkiller would be my final decision. Finally, if I wasn't sure, as I told you before, I'd get the blackwinter which I love in every guitar and never disappoints.

Whatever you choose, make sure you come back and make us know what you went for and how do you like it ;)

I'd go for aftermath. PK just seems too ice picky to me.

Hmmm...I'm leaning towards a painkiller on my bridge and maybe a C-pig or even A-pig at my bridge. This would be like my current X2n Bridge tone zone neck setup, but with BKP pickups. Would this be a good combo on an ash guitar or is this rather outlandish?

I'd still pick the c-pig
wouldn't rule out the miracle man, though, specially for lower tunings

Thank you for the input so far. Keep in mind this is for an Ash Ibanez prestige (Ibanez RGR652AHB new model coming soon)

The C-pig seems awesome but I hear ash already has a pronounced low end, is this true?

Forget about the Nailbomb for tech death.

totally agree with that

Can you explain why the Nailbomb  would be "that bad" ?
thanks..

I would not call my Ceramic Nailbomb a typical metal pickup, it`s in my opinion definitely more hard rock pickup with added aggression and modern twist, but still not clear and precise enough for tech metal. Its really 'hairy' and cannot keep up with complex precise rhythm playing like other pickups (in my case Miracle Man for comparison). It can also become a bit 'blurry' with complex riffing involving technical metal playing.
Dont get me wrong its amazing rhythm pickup but with some limitation and definitely tailored more towards hard rock direction. That`s my opinion based on experience with CBomb
