the WP has better harmonics (imo) than the 81 and a more natural midrange.

Which one has more highs? and how about the organicism of the highs quality"?!
Ah, is the warpig clearer, articulated than the EMG 81?

I can't really do a comparison since the EMG81s are in my mate's LEFTHANDED LP Custom.  I can say that we both noticed that the WP had more gain than the 81 and also sounded more 'alive'.

I could do some clips of the Titan with the WP, not sure how great it will sound at low volume but I'll give it a gp - keep an eye out for some new clips.

As for the amp, yeah I couldn't give two $%&#s what anyone else says - I trust my own ears (I paid Ģ300 for it).  The amp (like many) doesn't really give you the goods at bedroom volume, once you get upto rehearsal volumes though - WOAH!!!

I'm gonna need to upgrade the two G12Ms in my 4x12 though, this amp will blow those speakers soon as look at 'em

my (band)mate lives an hour away so we don't really get to hang out much outside of rehearsals - I'd love to help you but it's not really practical.  When we get something recorded in the studio I'll post some clips.

(update) we practiced today and I'm still loving this Randall Titan amp - it's a total beast!!!

EMG 81's give more powerful harmonics and high end, they are lead pickups you know. Warpigs aren't.  EMG's are a bit tighter too, and have more screech, but the Warpigs have a much bigger deeper sound, making it sound more brutal. The EMG 81 cut right through the Warpigs but they are for two different purposes. This is all my opinion.

My ideal set up would be to have two guitars for drop D and two for drop C, one of each has EMG'S and the other has warpigs.  The ones with EMG's also get tremolos, and the ones with warpigs have hardtail bridges. Ownage.

I wouldn't exactly agree with the last post but I will say that EMG81s are more focussed as they have huge midrange punch and not nearly as much bass as the Warpig.  As for high end and harmonics, I think the WP has just the right amount of each and a much more organic tone overall.

I think the Miracle Man is a truer side-by-side comparison with the 81.

I wouldnt (and dont) pigeon hole either pickup into lead or rhythm: both can do a great job of both, and bring different qualities to it. But I would agree generally with Black Fire.

AND the 81s have more mids.

As general tonal character goes the MM is a better comparison, but has noticable amount less gain: where I can A/B my pig and 81 within seconds, I hear the 81 have a shade more gain; if I left it 5 minutes, they'd seem the same, whereas a miracle man just has less, end of: you can tell all the time.

And seeing as I love my gain, I just sent my double screw pole miracle man in to be rewound to warpig level    (or higher if the existing tone isnt compromised: I left that to Tims judgement).

Should be a MONSTER! Cant wait to play the beast  :D
