Hi, I'm going to replace my Cort G290 pickups very soon. It has a swamp ash body, birds eye maple neck, rosewood fretboard and HSS pickups (EMG SA and 89).

The EMGs became too cold sounding for my taste, so I'm looking for a more organic/natural sound.

I will choose a Crawler which I tried and loved for the bridge pickup, and I'm hesitating between two Trilogy Suite pickups or Slow Hands for the single coils. My favorite guitar tones are :

- Lead neck sound in the modern David Gilmour territory. I'd like the neck pickup to handle hi-gain leads well too.
- "organic" clean sounds with the neck or the middle pickup for chords or arpeggios.
- Metal rythm and leads with the bridge pickup.

Could you please tell me which single coil between the Trilogy Suite and the Slow Hand are the best choice for these kind of sounds ?

Thank you very much !

Slowhands are more vintage compared to the Trilogies and in imho a better match with the Crawler, which is a sort of AV Uber-Mule. The Slowhands are quite thick/middy for single coils, so keep that in mind. They have a touch of a P90 (not totally of course). I think they will do for the music you play.

I have a Crawler in a MXG (made by Patrick Eggle etc etc) swampashstrat with ebony board/maple neck. I've paired the Crawler with Irish Tours, which are more Rory if you know what I mean. Slowhands are better for the Gilmour-tone.

I can split the Crawler which produces a nice tele-esque single coil sound which is not scratchy at all. I have the guitar wired to be able to combine the full Crawler with the middle-IT, which gives me a fat sound with a little more topend chime. I think that's a nice addition to the palet. I use a 500k pot for the Crawler and 250k for the singles.

If you want humcancelling on the second position I would order RWRP on the middle Slowhand.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

Thank you very much for your answer.

I'd have a last question : I checked the Slow Hand page and they only mention maple boards in the suitability section. Does it mean it may be too dark sounding with a rosewood fretboard, even considering the guitar has a swamp ash body which has a more scooped tone than alder ?
