Well, the good news is that the finger seems to be healing at a rapid rate of knots. Already playing again and using all four fingers. The top part of the finger has no feeling in at all at the moment, which really makes life interesting when I try some of the big stretches that I like to include in my playing.

It's not the only time I have done damage to my left hand. As a teenager I was involved in a karting accident which left teo fingers requiring pins. My ring finger was almost at a right angle below the second knuckle.... the irony being that the day before this latest drama my physio was telling me that she was amazed that I ever got the full range of movement back in those fingers.

Still, I was lucky this time.

Ooh, that sounds nasty.  I hate breaking bones.  I hate the sick feeling you get in your stomach when it happens.

Was cleaning the grout in my tiles this weekend. Gotta put house on market v.soon to sell and move back to UK.
Anyway, without noticing I rubbed a nice hole in my finger (middle on right hand) and then got the solution into it. OMG it stung, swelled like a mother too. Was using a cleaner with bleach but worse it contained LYE, OW!

well done nick.... way to go.....

ive never broken a bone  :D  but its interesting that you said your ring finger was almost at right angle at the second knuckle though.... i can almost bend it that far anyway....! that knuckle of mine is a bit spastic and goes backwards...  :?
