Maybe a bit of a random question; I've noticed that some of my Bare Knuckles are wrapped in paper tape while others are wrapped in a cloth tape. Originally I thought it might be that vintage pickups get the paper while modern pickups get the cloth tape but on further inspection, this doesn't seem to be the case as my Mules are taped in black cloth tape and my Riff Raffs get paper, so I wondered if this was a tonal decision? Or maybe it's just simply a case of using whatever tape happens to be on the bench at the time the pickups are made?
