Anyone played these guitars?

They SEEM to be cheap (but german made? Edit: found out theyre chinese! ewww), with good-woods-cr@p-hardware methodology to keep the prices down. I'm OK wth that, cause I'll change out most of the hardware anyway.

You cant change woods and construction quality, though! Does anyone know how they do in this department?

Much thankings for any help!

Yeah, I got a little comuppance of that!

I got told by the guy that I found out about them off that they're german made. NO! They're just german sold. They have one outlet: thomann music: a massive retailer with these guys as a house brand.

These guys sell tons of harley benton stuff, and are the only guys that do.

And this is the model I'm looking at, and trying to decide against an RG7321 for 299 from coda music

that trem on the HB is gonna suck...

i've also heard that thomann's after sales service isn't that great, on the engl forum...

I have no idea- those ibanezes are normally pretty good, as long as you check the quality control, and don't get one at that price with a trem...

that HB one is half the price, though...

Didnt know thomann werent that good: I only heard about them a day or two ago.

I dont use floyds anyway: I'll block it right away if I get it.

Basically I need someone to say "Yeah they're really well built and sound loud and full acoustically etc etc blah blah"

Its not gonna happen. And with the info I found so far, Ibanez wins.

Ah, i came across these on thomann a while back. I was seriously (and still am) considering buying the 6 string bass. Seemed really ideal. I just wanted it for fun and to record on my tracks. I cant say ive tried one, but i couldnt really be bothered if they were pants  :? . I just need a bass cheap with 6 strings. Il still get one when the cash flow increases a little (bottom of the list of wants im afraid).

By the way, thomann have always been pretty good for me. I mean, ive never had to deal with after-sales service as everything has been exactly as i  ordered and packaged so a hand-grenade couldn't harm the contents. Good prices on alot of stuff too. Plus the catalogue is neat :P. Its my main source of equipment in fact. Never bought a guitar.. but i got an audio interface, keyboard, Sm57, Mic stand, Dimebucker pup, and more. Been good to me, so id recommend.

I was thinking of getting one of their acoustics (the dirt cheap £26 one) just to muck about on, for that price it's not gonna be great, but it's not like I really play much acoustic so I figure its worth a go?...

Jeez, have you seen the price of the 4x12 cabs?

That is cheap!

I am really thinking about buying a quality head now and upgrading the cab later..

Gotta be a way to go, don't ya think.

Alright, I think I'm assured that thomann are OK, but I doubt I'll be touching the HBs with a barge pole. No report so far has really said that theyre good guitars without the price qualifier. I'll just be dissatisfied.

Cheers guys.

^ thing is, the rg7321 you were looking at I wouldn't exactly describe as an amazing guitar without the price qualifier either, mark... (haven't tried the 7, i'm going by the 6 stringer)

but yeah, it's probably better than an HB...
