Painkiller?

Ok so I recently got a Holy Diver set for my LTD Eclipse and I wanna get a new bride pup for my Beast. Hard Maple neck with an ebony board and Nato wings. Nato is similar to Mahogany I've read. I love the Divers Ive got and for my Beast I want a little bit more. I want the tightness and aggression and I wanna make it roar.. I had a ENGL Powerball but I got rid of it for a VHT Deliverance 120, best choice I ever made amp wise. It is VERY tight and dry and its kinda picky on what you use with it. So just wondering if a Painkiller might be the way to go.

Congrats on getting rid of that amp, I also hate it xD. By what you say the painkiller might be your best option, but I don't know the VHT very well to figure your final tone

The Powerball was.... disappointing.  I like the ENGL tones but the Powerball sounded a bit too synthetic, sterile if you will.  I'm extremely picky with gear so that didnt last long. I really like the VHT/Fryette Deliverance. Its one channel and extremely reactive to your volume knob. It gets crazy mean with more volume too. I highly recommend hearing one if ya can!

I was wondering if a Nailbomb might be a better choice. The Deliverance is a dry amp so maybe it would be better for some warmth? Found this clip of the Deliverance and the guy is using a custom guitar with Painkillers. I do like the sound but I dont know what the properties of the guitar are.

Just put a Rebel Yell in my Les Paul Custom
It's like a Holy Diver with a mild tube screamer clean boost setting
Tight and aggressive without the abrasiveness of a painkiller or nailbomb

Granted I've not heard em in person but of the vids I've seen so far the Yells sound a lot like my Eclipse with Holy Divers installed. I've been looking into the Aftermath now as well.

Also had the Diver, Black Dog and the Aftermath in this same guitar
The Aftermath is voiced like the Rebel Yell but even tighter, drier and more aggressive
I think I missed a little more low end in the lower strings

Tim emailed back saying Aftermath as well. So I think I' might give it a shot. However the C-Bomb has caught my ear now too. Wondering how that would match up.
