Hello folks, I hope the day finds you all well.  I'm new to this particular forum (been on a few others, didn't have the best experiences).  Just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying my C-Bomb.  Like many I'm sure it started as an A-Bomb that was a bit loose in the low end for me and needed a tad more cut in the high end.  The ceramic magnet I threw it seems to have cured what ailed the pickup in my ears.  In the past I've also dabbled with a Riff Raff and a Stormy Monday (all of these are bridge position by the way, my first electric was a Tom Delonge strat and it affected me so much that I've only played single pickup parts casters for a bit over a decade now).  The Stormy Monday will soon find a home in another guitar that I'm refinishing in the near future as a contrast to the C-Bomb guitar.  Sorry for the long post, have a good one!

I believe the c-bomb has a thicker ceramic magnet than the mentioned supplier, though (that would probably require thicker spacers too)

Well, if it is supposed to be thicker then I suppose I have a mildly unique pickup lol.  But in all seriousness I greatly enjoy my guitar's voice right now.  But back to the magnets, I know that Mojotone sells thicker ceramics (they use them in a few of their own pickups).

I've done a lot of tinkering with and modding of guitars and amps, but never swapped magnets in a pickup for whatever reason.

Well if you're ever anxious to try it out, the SD Custom range is super fun to experiment with since it responds so willingly to mag' swaps.  Just my two cents.

yeah, magnet thickness seems to have less influence on voicing than wire gauge, insulation or overwinding, but it does make a difference on output and low end response

I once asked for an overwound riff raff (when BKP still took custom orders), and Tim recommended a thicker alnico 5 bar instead, and that's still my favorite pickup after a decade, but I can't hear much of a difference from a regular riff raff, since the supposedly larger field and thicker low end might be compensated by pickup height setting (I believe)

I also came from the SD magnet swap crew when I first started with BKPs
tried an alnico 8 bar in a holy diver, but I much preferred the original a5, although it did transform the pickup into a fire breathing beast (regular hd has a medium output)
