Hi all, long time no see. I think my last post was about my Blackmachine being stolen, and I'd been away a few years before that!
I'm looking for suggestions for a bridge pickup for a Jackson dinky DK2. Alder body, maple neck, ebony fingerboard with a floyd rose. 25.5 scale. I play in drop A with big ol' 14-64 strings. Mostly playing grindcore in the vein of Pig Destroyer. Very dense, very fast, very heavy, basically. I like lots of clarity in the low end, pronounced attack, and fairly sharp upper mids and highs.
I had painkillers in my B2 (swamp ash body, rosewood neck, ebony board) and loved them but think maybe I need something with even more clarity and focus since this guitar doesn't have that built in like that Blackmachine did. As I say, I've been out of the BKP game a little while and haven't tried any of the more djenty-focussed pickups and wondered if maybe one of those might be a good shout?
I have a Blackmachine B6 with ceramic warpig/warpig set and have another B2 on the way that I'll probably have Painkillers in, too. So have some bases covered.
Really, I bought this guitar for recording daft solos that need a vibrato and think I'll put a Cold Sweat in the neck for that, unless anyone has any particular ideas on that front.
Thanks in advance for any pointers!
