the lx
..
whats to say
it kicks henious amounts of ass.
build quality, top notch. attention to detail, kickass. precations so it doesnt overheat, built in..
had a talk with dave (i think that was his name) one of the developers.. he said that it doesnt realy overheat, but they put the fan in, just to be sure.
components are butique quality, as to be expected.
what to expect sound vise...
judas priest, no prob
blind guardian, no problem
pick any german power metal band and it does the sound, only better (not as compressed but still with the same focus)
back down the gain and it does iron maiden perfectly (not the early albums, cos that is a pretty vintage sound, but imo, you could coax a sound like that out of it too.)
it is a heavy $%ing metal amp. take no prisoners and in the hands of a skilled guitarist it can be turned into a lethal weapon.
it has a lot of focus and definition, very harmonicaly rich. can someone lend me the cash so i can buy it?
there's also the voicing switch, that lets you change the (obviously) voicing of the amp.. and the texture which adds .. i dont know what it adds realy, but it sounds awesome lol
fun comment from the developer:
it's funny listening to guitarist talk about the amp. all got diferent views about it. to me it's just an amp.
(this is the dude hehe... does he post here?

while i love the sound of the gh laneys.. cant realy say about the VH .. i dont know for sure, but i think it's pretty much the same amp, just two chanel with diferent gain stages.. or something.
anyway. i tried the gh50l and i'm gonna buy one in the very near future cos it rules for the money and even sounds better than amps i've tried that cost more than the laney... the LX just slays it and doesnt look back IMO
