Building a cab - Electronics required?
« on: June 06, 2006, 10:37:12 PM »
Okay, I am looking at building a simple 1x12 cab
The wooden framwork, side, and covering shouldnt be a problem, but I was wondering what kinda electronics are actualy inside (pardon my ignorance). Is it literally just buying a speaker, two wires from that to an input jack? or is it more complicated?

Thanks

Speaker, 2 wires and jack.  That's it.  If you add speakers, you add wires (and have options on the wiring), but you never need any other electronics.   Unless you play one of those long guitars with only 4 strings!!!!!!!  Then you might have a crossover network for a tweeter.
So many pickups, so little time

Or if you're in D-A-D, one of those long guitars with 2-strings:

He has a different themed costume for each tour.

Once when I saw them he was dressed as a bullfighter and had a custom (again 2-string) bass shaped like coctail stick with an olive on the end.  It came with a giant martini glass bass stand too.  ;)

Another time he was dressed as a fighter pilot and had a missile shaped bass.

Very funny.  :)
