rick rubin is the producer of their new album, so who knows.
he's known of bringing out the best in people.. and i hope he removed kirks wah for at least a couple of songs.

i just listened to it.. i dont like it. james sounds horrible. it just doesnt have the energy their songs used to have.

BTW, WHO is that chick in your avatar?

doesn't especially sound like Metallica - 'derivative'.  it's not like you listen to it and instantly say "$%&# me, that can ONLY be Metallica".  :(

lets face it, Metallica hasn't made a good record since 1991 and their live show is piss poor these days.

I was always a bigger Slayer fan & time has proven that Slayer never lost it - their records are getting better all the time & their live show still kicks arse.

Same with Overkill for me.  Waaay better than Metallica/Megadeth but underated.  Still releasing kick-arse albums every year on the dot though.  :)

Metallica seemed to lose their focus in the 90s and started to sound like they were copying other bands a bit.  This song isn't any better than what they did on Reload for me.  And I didn't like that album.  Come to think of it, I never liked Metallica that much anywways, but at least I could appreciate their musicianship way back when.  This is cr@ppy.

That was absolutely abysmal IMO. James's voice is weak and that song is just utter rubbish. I really hope the new album isn't full of songs like that. Two dud albums and they're probably finished IMO. I love Metallica's old stuff, really love it. But that is just a p**s poor song.

Didn't find anything in that song that interested me. Metallica can't go back to their roots because they lost their creativity long ago.

I actually didn't mind Load of Reload, they had some really good songs on there, but no where near as good as the rest. I'll stick to Megadeth  :D

They must have heard all the criticism people gave about St Anger...I've not met anyone who thought it was a good album, and that should surely motivate them to prove that they've still got it with the next one

But that song was really not great at all

Why?

I think that it would take alot more than that to motivate multi-millionaires with a back catalogue they can live off till eternity.

Look at what is going on with Van Halen - he can't be arsed to do ANYTHING!

It's not their fault they are disconnected - it's just reality.

Maybe James should work outside with other artists or try solo. Metallica as a concept seems stagnant.
