You definitely have a valid point, Ian, especially when it comes to threads being highjacked, like Brow's was. That was a bit rude, I guess. It's also good to recognise the distinction between being serious and being mature. There are plenty of sites around full of people who take themselves way too seriously, but I wouldn't call them mature at all. I avoid those sites.
I like that this place has people who are having fun, even if it's childish sometimes. I think the good still outweighs the bad. And at least we don't have the all-too-common problem of people being insulting and very arrogant. So I don't think that we need to keep the banter out of serious threads completely, but perhaps we ought to try to make sure that we don't highjack the thread with it.
They're my bleary thoughts for this morning. :)
