I get second hand Duncans from the SD forums which usually cost 50 USD shipped to my door or around it. A BKP would cost me 160.

And aren't Duncans 70 pounds? 20 pounds is still a big difference... at least to me, poor student.

A BK wouldnt cost £160, only £90  :?

Why dollars?! Why not get Bareknuckle pickups when you are in Edinburgh and pay £90 each instead of the 160 youd pay "normally"

...because I don't have the money?

There IS a difference between 30 pounds and 90 pounds... To me at least...
I'm on the Duncan boards and it's easy to find cheap pickups there. If I don't like it, I sell it, get money on my paypal and get more. Even shipped from the US (the board is mostly American, hence why I work in Dollars) they're usually 50 to 55 bucks.
To get bareknuckles, I'd need a credit card which I don't have AND 90 GBP which I barely ever have either. For the MM, I paypaled Ben (Twilightodyssey) who paid with his credit card (thanks again man!) but it's not something I can do. If I were to get it in a store, it'd be over 100 pounds as well.

I don't get what's the big deal guys? I'm asking about a COVER. Why does anyone tell me to keep getting a BKP? If I had the dough I would, but I don't. I'm a student, I can't seem to find a job for some reason and I have no income, so expensive pickups aren't an option, whereas 30 pounds ones are.
I had to sell the MM at 100 dollars to get a buyer... So to me they have no resale value either.

And I don't know if you understood, but 90 pounds IS 160 dollars... You lost me there man. I work in dollars because I buy my Duncans with paypal in dollars. A Duncan = 50 bucks, a BKP = 160. I love Duncans, and I don't have money for a BK. Why would I go for one anyway? If you send me money for free, sure thing man, I would, no problem.

Oh and I'm French, be happy I don't talk in Euros ;) :D

You cant just put covers over a pickup, they would need to be fitted and wax potted. If you dont do this your pickups will become microphonic and feedback.

Also if you are looking for a  answer on the covers email the BK guys. We are merely forum members.

Yeah... true... Thanks. Eitherway the main site still doesn't take paypal so that's out *smacks forehead*
The Distortion has a non potted cover and it doesn't squeal nor feedback... would it only do so at high volumes?
And no probs Tom ;) I tend to consider some things obvious while others obviously don't, my bad ;)

The Cover will fit, I've got a camo cover lying around that fits on the SD's i've tried it on.

Anyway you will need your pickup wax potted.

Ah, you didn't say you were going secondhand

Factor in something like 4-conductor wiring (no-cost option on BKP, +£20 on Duncans) when buying new and you're on a level playing field again. I've just gone from a Duncan set to a BKP (both PAF-a-likes) and as a total tone junkie I have to say the improvement was like being hit in the face with a flamethrower.

Oh ok, how can you not like a Miracle Man?

If you don't like a Miracle Man, you certainly won't like a Duncan Distortion...

Duncans PAF alikes (aside from the antiquities which I hear are good) are pretty bad PAF replicas.  The BKP clips I've heard sound like PAFs though and come a lot cheaper than PAFs ;)

Why?  Pierre said himself that he loves DD and didn't like MM. In my opinion, he should have go for a NB.
I changed my DD for a NB and found it was in the same vein, with a more organic tone and a bit more fullness for the NB. The NB is agressive, as is the DD. The MM seems smoother, as described by some users.
And you can like a BKP and didn't like another one at all.
