Gig in London tomorrow night
« on: July 05, 2006, 05:37:17 PM »
Hey guys.

Just a quick heads up that my band For This Day is playing in London tomorrow night (Thursday 6th July).

Here's the venue info incase anyone is interested in coming down:

Orange (formerly West One Four /The Fox)

3 North End Crescent
West Kensington
London
W14 8TG

Train:   Kensington (Olympia) (7 mins)
Tube:   West Kensington (3 mins)

Other bands on the bill are Tom Lillywhite, Bushguru and Just Wendy.

The gig starts at around 8pm and it's £6 entry but £5 with a flyer.

It'd be awesome to meet some of you guys, so if you come down, make sure to come and say hello.

Brow

Thanx for the kind words :)

I wasn't sure how many of you guys would be interested about the gig, but thought it was worth a thread anyway :)

After visiting your myspace page I'd be well up for coming - but it's too short notice for me to actually get there...Give us some advance warning next time and maybe we'll do it as a BKP forum day trip (for those of us that live nearby)

I haven't got any pics myself, but a mate of ours takes pics at practically every gig we do. So there may be some floating about somewhere :)

Glad it went well Craig. I do remember you saying you had a gig there, it must have been back in the Winter. It's a bit of a trek for me on a Thursday, as I'm up at 5:30 in the morning!

What did you think of the Venue? Did they offer to film it for a silly fee? A few of my mates bands played there in the mid 90's. One of them, the drummer in one the bands was giving out flyers near the door and when he went to go in the bouncers made him pay!   I couldn't stop laughing as I had to lend him a fiver as well!

Ah damn! Sorry Brow, I didnt see his before the gig. I live down the road. Played the venue a few times as well. I hate it, purely because we have had some bad times with the promoter. If the guy wasnt such an idiot then the venue would be great.

Haha, yeah here is the worst video in the world, with cr@p sound for £60!

Thanx for the posts guys.

The venue was very small, but I think that's sometimes a good thing.

The sound was dreadful, but the promoter and soundguy were running late so we didnt get a proper soundcheck or anything.

Also, due to their lateness, we ended up getting taken offstage a song early which annoyed the keyboard player and some of our mates that had come down to watch us.

THe promoter also tried to scam us our cheque etc, but I'll get that sorted :)

£60! What a fooking piss taking C***! (The sound is wank with camcorders)

I filmed my mates in their 'The All New Spruce Moose Band' Which were a good fun band and women used to go too! Anyway some little bloke with a beard asked me for £25 (this was back in 1996) for the 'Copyright Fee'! As it was the end of the night and they had played their set, I gave him the only appropiate answer, F*ck Off!
