I'm 99% sure it's a joke, but then you never know, some classical musicians out there might be crazy enough to try and attempt a peice like this with a full orchestra.

Insert Peanuts is an obscure musical term for.....inserting peanuts.There is a similar one for melons but that tends to be in operatic pieces.

Thats to dampen the strings so they don't 'ring' when released or touched.
