Just in an addition to my earlier post - I went and played some Megadeth earlier, just for you, and the Holy Diver managed it with ease :)

It didn't sound quite right for Pantera (though still good) :drink:

^I play Pantera with my LP with Mules :P I'm sure the HD's sound even better for it though.

D-Man! Holy hell! This is like, everyone who's smarter than me, all at one forum! I'm still interested in staying SSS, but since I don't have enough experience with bridge singles, I just wouldn't know what to expect.

Searcher: That's a good price, I'll definitely consider it! I'm just not sure I want to switch the other two pickups, though...

I guess it depends on how much money I can make, and how soon.

Deg0ey: I'm definitely liking ths sound of this Holy Diver thing. How do the Cold Sweat or VHII compare?

And which BK is voiced LEAST like a JB?

I'm afraid I can't answer how it compares to the Cold Sweat or VHII as I've never played them, and I never played a JB (after the bad publicity) so I also can't answer that...

Buuuut, I get paid on Friday, and I'm planning to order some recording gear - so I can get you some clips of the HD to listen to, straight through my ENGL so you can have the raw tone of them with no processing or anything :)

do you mean which one sounds the least cr@p, or which one isn't too trebly, with that horrible mid spike?

;)

EDIT: I also assume you mean in terms of tone, not gain...

None of them sound like the current JB.
For a classic JB style tone, go with the Holy Diver.
If you want more bite, tighter bottom, and bit more air, go with the VHII.
If you want more low end and lower midrange drive, as well as the ability to push your amp into ovdrive, go with the Cold Sweat.

Thanks, Dave.

I meant without all the treble and the mid spike. I want something with more bass and low mids, but still plenty of gain.

It sounds like I want a Cold Sweat, then...
