Hey everyone,
I think I'm probably going to go with the Nailbomb for the bridge in my gibson les paul. this particular guitar doesn't have a maple top, it is all-mahogany...neck, body, everything... all-mahogany. So, it is a very "woody", warm, maybe a little dark sounding. It just has the stock gibson burstbucker pros in it right now. They sound good, but I'm looking for better. :D
The bridge pickup isn't as full as I'd like it to be, so I'm just going to go with the nailbomb for that. For the neck pickup, I don't know what to get. I'm not sure if the nailbomb neck would be a good idea. I want my neck pickup to be able to do two things: warm, thick nice sounding cleans & thick ballsy mid-range focused leads with lots of clarity under heavy distortion, for shred type stuff. It doesn't have to be the absolute hgihest output neck pickup for this, because that would probably take away the cleans I want it to be able to do. Both clean on neck, and distorted solos/lead riffs on neck are important.
Suggestions? :)
P.S. I forgot to mention that the burstbucker neck pickup has too much bass in this guitar, so I need something that is pretty much even across all frequencies... more mid-range focused... shred
