I'll be home around New Year too, my vote is Chandos at the bottom of St Martins Lane.  The only Sam Smiths pub outside of Yorkshire I think.

I know Ben would love to join us, if only for the steak and ale pie (made with Old Brewery Brown Ale).

There's a sam smiths pub in my home town of Newport, The Murenger. Used to be quite a rock pub but got refurbished and lost its juke box and went all townie.

Imperial Stout is my favourite - the oatmeal isn't bad, but is a bit sweet. Of course we could pick a Young's pub....

For a couple of years I lived in Wandsworth, about 3 minutes walk from the Youngs brewery (RIP). If you're ever in that area go to The Grapes and give my regards to Des the landlord.
