I've had a Traynor amp before, it was 95% identical to a tweed Bassman circuit, nothing like the Uberschall. The Uber's clean channel was most like a Fender Twin, but funkier.
The overdrive channel was just insane - I was playing Pantera riffs with the gain on 5. Full gain is probably 'too' much, it sounded better with the gain set to around 3/4 of max (8'ish)
Just for info; the YGL-3's tone stack is very much like the old Fender Bandmaster with slight shades of Marshall. It's clean up to 10/10 unless you've got something really meaty to drive it with. In short it's nothing like the tweed bassman. You must be thinking of the Traynor YB's or something.
can't remember what model Traynor it was, but when I had it open for the routine once-over it was pretty much tweed Bassman territory but more importantly, it's nowt like a Bogner Uber - this is a thread about SICK gain, heh
