Just been listening to some Philip Sayce. Perfect.

Also been listening to 'RHCP - Live at Slane Castle' whilst working from home (using a very small window to run the vid in on my desktop). Great stuff, now gassing for a Frusciante style Strat.

My favourite moment is on All Around the World when Flea gets infected by the groove at about 1:19 in on the vid below.

Jealous!

Off to see them in November, hoping that Klinghoffer fits in well.

The prick that lives below me regularly plays RHCP absurdly loud. It makes me want to top myself. That or RATM. Which is no better.

Arsehole.

no RATM love? - I'm surprised, really.  Their 1st album is especially great, imo.

I've been having an 80s rock day, had my parents round helping to decorate so there was no grindcore today.

Nah I find them pretty tedious. And the contrived, hypocritical politics grate (and I find it really hard to disassociate bands and their politics).

I wouldn't mind half as much if it weren't just a subwoofer through my floor, though. The whole tunes are better than RATM boy/Flea detached from the rest of the band

An irregular exception to the rule. I was jovial the day I went to ask them to turn it down at half one in the morning on a Monday to encounter the massive Polish chap that lives opposite them at their door demanding "MUSIC! DOWN!"

Just saw a documentary about Mike Stern. He was tellling about his time when he was playing with Miles Davis. Interesting stuff.
