The Russell Brand show :)

Edit: Oh yes, and also the sound of my life sliding out of view due to work ... its kind of a barely audible mournful whimper from the back of the throat  :(

I know the feeling of the latter :( says the person with the beer bottle brused head

I have been listening to the new Crowded House album as I am a big fan of Niel Finn's songwriting. All you young metal chappies would probably hate it though. I think the album is fab.

You're right. PDT_008

Seriously, I have Try Whistling This, and while I like some of the songwriting, the tempos are like funeral dirges!

Crowded House albums generally are a bit upbeat but this one is a bit darker than the others-there seems to be the Paul Hester thing influencing things but being a bit of a fan, I am just pleased to see them back.

The loss od Paul Hester is one of the reasons I have been avoiding the album.

Bloody hell!  Is wimphem making a comeback?  I had no idea these guys were still around.

Is the Night Ranger album heavy(ish)?  I always liked their first album best - the songs were all short and catchy, the later albums had too many ballads.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

:D It`s heavy`ish in places, leans more towards the guitars than the keyboards for sure, some great soloing going on but has that distinct nightranger`ish song writing. Poppy commercial songs. More like laterday Def Leppard !

But i love all that type of stuff, they call it AOR now check out Melodic Rock.com http://www.melodicrock.com/reviews/reviews.html This guy tends to be right more often than being wrong. You can click on the links connected to the album review your reading, invariably it`ll be a record company link but you can listen to some snippets of the songs before deciding wether or not to buy. Along with this Web site Melodic Rock.com is my fav, check it out if you like good commercial singable type Metal 80`s/90`s style.
