Opeth - Still Life, Blackwater Park and Orchid. Such great albums, I still cant believe they use Boss for their distortion, they have one of the best metal tones ever imho.

Joe Satriani, Super Colossal. Sublime guitar music!
Yes , Super collossal is just killer.  I love the neck tone.  i asked Tim how to aheive that tone once, and he suggested an uberwound trilogy.  maybe One day.... cheers

Been listening to my new Pete Molinari CD.

It sounds a lot better now I realised that someone had been pressing buttons on my amp and it was only coming out of one speaker with the trebble up full and the bass rolled completely off
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

Black Keys, Chicken Shack, Free and Wailing Souls (reggae in case you don't know them).  The Black Keys have so much Zep, Yardbirds and all those 60's sounds in their music.  I was playing them to a friend and he thought they were a 60's band he had missed!  I have a lot of reggae from years back, I still love the rhythms in it.  Chicken Shack and Free - just classic rock blues with a Les Paul, wah, echo and a tone of gain.... oh, and a reasonable amount of skill!!

Black Keys are awesome, Phil :D

I'm just watching some Rory Gallagher vids on youtube, so good - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Yml4V-zcf3A&NR=1

Weird seeing him use a non-strat style guitar in the Bullfrog Blues one though. 1st vid just makes me want a set of Irish Tours for my strat, and whatever amp he was using!

The Black Keys! I bought their Rubber Factory album a couple of years back and it's just so good. Robert Plant recommended them in Uncut magazine and they put the track grown so ugly on the freebee cd.

Wolfsbane, that's a blast form the past! I'd forgotten about them, they were good as well.

I ordered that JPT Scare Bands CD last night after just having a few mp3's for last few years. The guitar player is an impov' master, really worth checking out, they have some clips on their page.
Try the track Sleeping Sickness.

I'm stuck at work as I'm on-call, but I have the wonders of the Young brothers and a mad geordie (or a barmy Scot) to keep me company........

Whole Lot Of Rosie blasting out of the iPod right now!!!

Just loaded The War Of The Worlds onto the iPod too, so I might move into that later on.  Sad as some of you metallers might think that is there is actually some damn good guitar on that when you listen to it.  Very cool!
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot!
