Its all about Opeth for me. A grand mix of old and new style metal.

But i listen to all sorts... ive just come out of a period of serious Van Halen feasting. It was all about The Mars Volta the month before.

+1

I was thinking today, if i could only listen one band for the rest of my life, I'd be most content with Opeth. Whatever mood i'd be in there'd be a song for it.

Scorpions - Live Bites

a great live album. worth getting if you're a scorpions fan - even if you have Tokyo Tapes or World Wide Live.

at the right moment 'the wind of change' can bring a bit of dampness to the eye. other times its a bit too cheesy... today i can't get enough of this track for some reason. On the version on Live Bites the band absolutely nails it. Schenker's solo is masterful. Makes me proud to be a V player, and a european.

Opeth - Watershed.
I did the bad thing and downloaded it but I will definitely be buying it as soon as I have time to get to a CD shop (assuming it's out yet, the Satriani album took about a month to get released here).
I see a rainbow rising
Look there on the horizon
And I'm coming home
