Unlocking songs on Rock Band 2 ... It might be pop, but I think Paramore's singer has a great voice!

Well after listening to two tracks of Nile, I had to listen to Ommadawn by Mike Oldfield to re-establish the equilibrium.

Manowar youtube videos being played by me today. Nothing like a bit of cheese on a Friday.

Chinese Democracy

(Funny, I was going to put "Guns n' Roses" there, but it didn't seem right or necessary... )

Never expected to be saying this, but (on first listen) I am absolutely LOVING this!  :o :D

It's sprawling, pompous, messy and the heavily-processed percussion and guitar sounds seem oddly dated at times (there is a TON of guitar on this album).  The shred guitar seems weird in Gn'R... but this isn't really Gn'R.  If the original band still existed they would never have made this record.  But... it sounds huge, Axl's singing is terrific (and I was never really a fan of his voice) and, goddammit, the songs themselves are great!

Yeah, it's nothing like Appetite.  But I must have listened to that record 1,000 times so hearing something so fresh(!) and different is a totally unexpected pleasure.

OK... start flaming me now...
