the EMG 7 strings are a different shape from all the other manufacturers', and they're not really interchangeable with them.  awkward buggers

i too would love to see 7 string covers, if only for a proper warpig 7!!

Correct.  Since they are actually bass pickup housings, not proper guitar housings, they require routing out your guitar to fit them... a real downer for most people, particularly if you ever plan on selling the guitar with the original pickups stuck back in them.

That sucks. Uncovered with gold screws then, I guess.

On the other hand, if there are enough of us who do want covers it couldn't cost that much to have them cast, could it? And on a larger scale it would be a cool BKP thing, being the first to offer 7 string covers, even at extra cost. Hmm...

the thing to do would be for some enterprising individual to arrange the manufacture of covers, then sell them to all the pickup companies!  oops, just let slip my golden idea...

i think the reason noone's ever bothered is that most 7 string players are metal players, and don't want the traditional nickel or gold covers.  as far as i know bareknuckle are the only company that do real funky covers, and they don't sell enough 7 strings to justify manufacturing covers.  even if they did, only a certain percentage would be ordered with covers.

edit:(does that paragraph get an award for most instances of the word "cover" in two sentences?)
