ah, ok. I dunno. I started off liking the pickguard one better, but I'm starting to think the others are swaying me...

I am not a fan of either but if pushed, I'd say 1.

I'd probably agree with you Mr Beatle - V's aren't my thing, something curvier would be nicer (to my mind) :drink:

I think that #1 gets much more love than #2

being honest... I don't use the tone pots, only the volume. and some people even say that a guitar sounds better without tone pots, they say that they suck tone.

That's interesting becuase not only have I heard that plenty of times before, but the only time I ever use a tone pot, which is still very rarely, is on a Les Paul so I can turn it down a little for the bridge pickup sometimes to make it match the neck.  With my Rebel Yell set, I don't even need to do that either.

I try not to use either pot, because when you turn the volume pot down, that sucks a hell of a lot of tone too.
Real men turn their volume to 11!

Rebel Yells + Les Paul = the Ultimate Rock Pickup.

I think guitar number 1 looks better, alot simpler design. Where do you guys get thes egutiar designs from tho? seen a few posts with similar images, im guessing theres a website with the generic images that you can pick and choose from to build a virtual guitar.

I prefer #2. It adds to the two-tone thing of the guitar.

The first one looks nicer to me. I like the minimalist look on a 'fun' guitar like that. It adds to the stripped down "loaded and ready to fire" look.

I like elaborate on vintage, minimal on modern. The first one just seems to look more 'energetic'.

#1 reminds me of Eddie Van Halen's early no nonsense approach to guitar design.

And all that coming from a middle aged 'vintage' geezer ! Part of me would just love to pick up #1 and grow some hair  :D

Regards,

Derek.

I'd say the 2nd one has more of an 80s taste and the 1st one is a little more contemporary.
What am I saying? the 80s IS contemporary isn't it????? 8)

Its a pretty easy mod to fix this problem though. You just need to wire a resistor and capacitor across lugs 1+3, not sure how it needs to be done though.
