I haven't played one yet but I have seen one close up. They are drop dead gorgeous.

They look great and get good reviews!  Not seen/played one though.

I played a couple of Starplayer models (briefly and only unplugged) recently at the local guitar shop. My impression was that they are very solid, very well-made guitars with a good acoustic sound. The necks were noticeably thick and round (and I'm used to a 50s style SG neck).
Does the model you mentioned have one Duesenberg Domino P90 and one humbucker?
I only ask because I briefly had a set of Duesenberg Dominos in my SG and found them very poor. Not a bad single coil but certainly not like a proper P90.
I have no idea what their humbuckers are like.
The price seems very fair. As long as the guitar is as nice as those I've seen, I think it would be worth it. And it's probably OK to presume seeing as this is the BKP forum that the pickups might be swapped later anyway.

At that price I'd be tempted to get it, especially as it's orange!  An MQ in the neck and Mule in the bridge would be lovely  :D

If you're not buying it, I might be interested...

Who cares about stock pickups anyway? The worse they are the easier the click to "buy me" in BKPs Online Store :)))

But it does look very nice. Would I have to expect a guitar between 335 and Les Paul, would that describe it?

Now I want one too ...

yup that would sort of hit the sound but would say nicer somehow woody sound than a 335....damn can't raise funds(or sanction it, need pickups and amp) damn this grown up s**t (anyone know any good money lenders)

but for interested ones is at the soundcontrol in sheffield the one in centre of town, not on there website, strange. didn't have case but bloke ins hop said would do hard case for £30

tell us if you get it

The designs are great, I love the way they combine that sort of art deco look with modern, original features.

Having said that, I really liked the Schenker-style V they made, but looks like they've redesigned it with an asymmetrical body like a Jackson RR.  Won't be getting one of those now.  :(

A certain guitar company wanted them to change it.
