Trilogy Suite - emulate valve breakup tones using modellers.
« on: October 14, 2006, 09:01:31 PM »
Two clips.

'AT' is an Andy Timmons riff and was recorded through my Behringer X V-amp. Marshall Plexi model with a bit of delay.

'Breakup' was recorded through Guitar Rig 2. Again, Marshall Plexi model, with a TubeScreamer stomp pushing it slightly.

The pickups are my Trilogy Suite neck pickup and my Mother's Milk neck pickup wired up to make a pseudo neck humbucker.

The tone is very bassy but I love it. It sounds stupendous through my Valve Junior set to clean/very slightly breaking up. I'm selling my X V-amp soon and getting a V-amp 2. I'm getting lots of good tones with the X V-amp but the lack of a 3 band EQ is limiting the tones I could get with the amp models IMO. The V-amp 2 also has an Aux In.

And Guitar Rig 2 is rather good too :). The amp models are better than the V-amp's but not by much at all.

Very nicely done. IMO your tone was spot on for Breakup. The Timmons riff had good tone and feel too.

get youserlf a pod instead of the v amp. the distortion on the v amp is compared to a ZOOM 1010 . and i  dislike it at all.
no offense ok?
Also... i bought that Behringer pedal GDI-21
this one soundīs good.

Cheers for the replies :).

Could you PM or email me that clip of the GD121? That would be grand.

I'm going to try a few units out very soon. The Zoom G2 and the Pod 2.0 will also be tried. I'm not looking to spend more than 120GBP or so.

I used to have a Toneport UX1 and won't rule out buying another one either :P. I could use GR2 through it as well and it would solve my latecy problems.

-Danny :)

Thats becasue it's so incredibly similar to the Tech 21 pedal (well actually it's more than just similar hint, hint). So it should give a good sound.

don't suppose you have tried out their wah, as it allegedly sounds very similar from a certain wah from hell ?
