P90 Options?
« on: October 18, 2006, 07:19:23 PM »
I've got a Les Paul jr. that needs the right pickup.  I've been very happy with my Warpig in my Flying V and my MQ's in my ES-137.  I thought I heard somewhere (but now I can't find it) that there's a Warpig P90 out there.  Is this a humbucker in a P90 size or a humbucker sized P90 based along the lines of the Pig?  What else is out there in a high output, chunky P90 that still cleans up well when the volumes backed off.  The idea of a Warpig in P90 form though sounds great to me...especially if it can be coil tapped.

It a P90 not a humbucker - and I think it can be tapped too.  Wow - what a great pickup  :D

Is it listed on the products page but not by the name pig-90 or is it a special order?  I know Dimarzio makes a humbucker that's P90 sized...maybe an actual P90 sized Warpig might be a good seller.

The Pig-90 is an overwound P-92 that has the finish of the Warpig (i.e. Allen Bolts and Camo).  I have one and it has more bass than the standard P-90 but sacrifices some mid and top for it.  It is a very thick sound and it will make you pull out all your best Iommi licks if you get one!

This is mine on my LP junior.

How/Where did you get it and what did it run you?

Tim asked me if I was interested in it and I said I would take it.  He knows that I like P-90's.  I really have no idea what it cost, because I was buying a few sets at the time and this just was added in.  You could send an email to BK to ask how much they are.
