OK - Speech class - due Monday, possibly Friday...
We have to do a speech on a demonstration about anything we want - and I decided I'm going to go ahead and do something on guitar techniques like palm muting, vibrato, bends, hammer ons/pull-offs, and slides:twisted: . The thing is... we are required to keep it in a time limit of 4-6 minutes! How am I going to explain all this to newbies? Well, I put together a PowerPoint presentation quickly explaining TAB and using diamgrams to explain all the techniques listed above...I guess I just wanted some input on some passages I should use for each...
Bends = I was thinking the intro to Heartbreaker 8)
Slides = This lick I made up...open to suggestions though
Vibrato = ummm, the short Metallica passage in the middle of Fade to Black
Palm Mute = The blues shuffle, maybe the intro in Bring it on Home by Led Zep
Hammer ons/Pull-offs = I might use the intro in Fade to Black or Over the Hills and Far Away...I dunno yet
Then I'm thinking about ending it with just an improvisation using a pentatonic scale will all the techniques listed above....what do you all think? Any better ideas/suggestions? Just looking to make that damn A
