My one RY in the Bridge of my SG (clean stuff)
« on: October 26, 2006, 01:34:33 AM »
I got a Rebel Yell a while back just for my bridge pickup in my Gibson SG. I made a thread about how I loved the sound of using both pickups now. I tried to capture that magic with my macbook, but I'm still not very good at this recording thing.

Anyway, this is a bunch of clean stuff using my one rebel yell and my stock pickup. I played with the settings of Garage Band to get a sound very similar to my Hot Rod Deluxe, I actually got a little shocked after a while because of the similarities. It's in no way the same thing, but it's pretty good for being a program I essentially got for free with my macbook.

Enough talk! Play the clip! *note* I know the sound clips, I don't know how to fix it :(

Wow it's the 70s again :D  Some nice chords and playing the in there but you're overloading the input of Garageband, how are you connected to your computer? you might want to turn the fader down if its in the red and this will clean up the sound.

I know! I'm directly plugged in (had one of those 1/8th converter things handy) and no matter what I do it always goes in the red. I even tried lowering the volume on my guitar all the way then lightly pushing it till it registers a signal, and still I'd get the clipping...

Where's this fader you're talking about? I can see the volume in the track, the volume in the effects panel, and the volume down by the overloading markers.

i used to put my guitar directly into my computer by the same method, for ages i used my Mic input and it was horrible and clippy, then i figured out how to use the Line In on my card and it was perfect!

don't know what a mac book has but if it helps...
