I have plenty of friends from the states, but it seems that the ignorant ones always get their voice heard while the intelligent and kind ones are rarely acknowledged.
Typical of most places, really -- it's just that, thanks to prominence of the US in media and communications (and a relatively large populations), it's easier to hear American oafs than oafs from other countries. :?

One of the difficulties the UK faces is that they have the habit of inventing clever things (light bulbs, computers, jet engines) but the fail to commercialize them! I think all the product development chaps must have taken off overseas in the days of the Empire, or got killed in the Somme or something ....
Ah well, at least we've got BKPs! Gibson may have applied for the patent, but Tim and Co. do them better! :)
