Ice cold in alex
« on: November 03, 2006, 10:02:05 AM »
I can't believe how quickly the temperature has dropped in ol blighty over the past couple of days, this morning it was 1 degree C!!!!

Does anyone know about insulation because my house has basically non, I have a cellar which makes the floor feel like ice and a couple of doors which have massive gaps in them letting air pass through freely. I need to sort something out this weekend or I'm probably going to freeze to death in my sleep  :(

Anyway White Christmas this year???, Place you bets now please!

yeah, there was frost here this morning. And last week it was about 15 celsius!

I have no idea about insulation, I'm just commiserating with the weather assessment.

Tell me about it mate, my house was built in 1875 and has absolutely no insulation.  Couple that with the broken cat flap that lets cold air in as well as the duct that passes through my kitchen wall to behind the cupboards.

Have you tried one of those stuffed snakes that sit at the bottom of the door

I put draft excluder on the door between the kitchen and the front room and it really seemed to help.
Advice worth what you just paid for it.
