Iommi's pickups

I think the idea behind the Iommi signature pickups is not so much to drive the amp but to shape the sound that is being presented to the amp.

There is a great feature in this month's Guitar & Bass, Mike Clement get's a mention (Iommi's tech), he's local to me and a sound chap. I won't trust an amp to anyone else.

Hello, I've just joined the forum so I may be considered a 'newbee', BUT not regarding pickups; 'twas myself and John that first designed the "Hyperflux" and its family..
My wife and I were close personal friends of John, Joyce and family, in fact the second design of pickup was specifically for my wife's Golden Höfner (#25) and whilst it was the test bed for the following line, My Fender 1000 pedal Steel Guitar was the initial test bed from whence all came.
Ironic isn't it the the pickup lusted after and craved for by so many players from the mid 60's onwards, was originally designed for a guitar that played music like the Great American Song-Book and Hawaiian melodies.!
