I'm looking for a distortion pedal...

Is there a not-so-digital sounding distortion pedal similiar to Digitech Metal Master?
Also versatility would be cool, like vintage rock and brutal death metal sounds

Suggestions?

I suggest a Boss MT-2 SLO-Diezel Mod. by Humphrey Audio. From the review it seems it'seven better than the Keeley mod. I'll be getting one in a few month I think.

Hmm... I might even buy a fuzz pedal instead of distortion pedal and focus on the vintage side of music... but just for a while :twisted:

only bad thing is that they cost $265 shipped...

and one thing I'm not certain about: Overdrive pedals doesn't sound good with solid state amp, but I believe fuzz pedals doesn't have any problems?

And I've checked out the Metal Muff, sounds awesome!!

Try a Keeley modded MT-2, absolutely stunning and doesnt sound digital at all, very real sounding, better than the metal muff but at twice the price...

its worth it :)

meh, the sound clips of the Keeley MT-2 suck... could someone show me some clips of it in real action?

they're not even showing how the lead playing sounds
I'm more impressed in the Metal Muff atm, but even more in the fuzz pedal
so I'm still holding out the previous question

Well if you want versitile, try out a Line 6 DM4. It is a digital pedal, but it's got some real nice sounds on it.

Even if you don't want to buy one, trying it in a shop may give you a good idea of what sort of pedal to go for, as it has models of a whole bunch of famous pedals.

the Line 6 costs 350 in euros here :?
and the nearest place to try it out is 700 km to north... about 6 hours away
yeah, there's not even nearly enough music stores in here

^it costs pretty hell a lot, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't sound even half as good as in the clips with my solid state amp
but very awesome pedal, just not in my range!
