Great, thanks. Where do you best solder ground to on a pp pot?
That's a bloody good question, it's so long since I used a push-pull I can hardly remember :? . You certainly don't want a lot of solder on the top of the pot because it could get into the switch mechanism. And I'd be reluctant to solder onto the sides of the switch part, because I think it's fairly fragile inside.
The third tag on the pot is going to be grounded anyway, so rather than doing the usual thing of bending it up and soldering it to the pot chassis, I think I'd run a wire from that tag to the
side of the pot (before putting it in the guitar). You could use the ground wire from the output jack - strip the insulation off the last inch of the wire and run it
through the third tag then solder the end to the side of the pot.
The ground wire from the switch and the bare wire from the pickup can then be soldered to the third tag.
