I play an Ibanez RG2570 (basswood) through a Carvin MTS tube amp. The stock Dimarzio/IBZ pickups are ok, but I desire something more. I play hard rock (with a little bit of metal). I would like a high output pickup that delivers the utmost possible clarity, and has loads of harmonics. I've looked at many Dimarzio pickups, and I am strongly considering the Steve's Special for the bridge, as I have heard of its harmonic and clarity abilities. I also looked at the Dimarzio X2N. However, I have browsed over Barenuckle pickups as well, and they are very expensive compared to the Dimarzios!
Which Barenuckle pickups would recommend for hard rock/metal music? As I said before, clarity would be my biggest priority. Also, how would Barenuckle pickups compare to the Dimarzio X2N in terms of clarity/output/harmonics? Thanks!

If you want a rival to the X2N, you should check out the Miracle Man, or maybe, if your feeling even heavier, the Warpig.

Miracle Man has a ceramic magnet with huge amounts of power and harmonics, very similar to the X2N.
Check out some of the clips in the players section.

The reason why BKP's are so expensive is because they are hand made, every pickup is made the same way, by hand. Top quality components and top quality performance is what you will get.

The X2N has so much power I don't think that clarity is it's strong point, maybe a ceramic warpig would give you similar levels but a much much better tone, for something a little closer to the steve's special would be the miracle man, but remember these are BKPs with their own sound not copies of dimarzio or any other brand.
All BKPs will give you clarity, it's one of their trademarks :)

lol, this is kind of funny. I was actually torn between the Warpig, MM, and Cold Sweat myself... Any further suggestions based on:
Ibanez RG2570 (basswood)
Hard Rock/Metal style

I'm thinking the MM...
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :)

I don't think the Warpig would be similar to an X2N tbh, Miracle Man will give you all you want i think.
