Hi,
So I just ordered my first BKP, a ceramic Warpig, for the bridge of my Epiphone SG Custom (3 pups) and Im wanting to get two more pigs for it once I can get the money. But is there realy all that much of a noticable difference between a calibrated and a non-calibrated set?

And yeh Im gonna do an @ss load of Sab clips :twisted:

I don't think there's any such thing as a "non-calibrated" set of the same pickups - i.e. if you come back in a few weeks & order a WP neck you'll end up with pretty much what you would have got had you ordered a WP calibrated set in the first place.

Use of the term "calibrated" means that you get a set of pickups that are designed to work in certain positions (i.e. a bridge pickup & a neck pickup) and compliment each other (e.g. a WP bridge & WP neck as opposed to, say, a WP bridge & Stormy Monday neck)

yeeeaaahhh! i love clips!! especially C-WP!!!!

hey yeah i got the razorback its totally AWESOME!!!

it plays so easily!!!! even though it has a slightly wide neck than i usually play, it plays better! its a magic guitar.

obviously, it looks ace, even better in person than in the pictures that are on the dean website!!!

now, about the dimebucker.... its not as bad as you think. its meatier than anything ive used before, so its an improvement!
BUT... its not as good for pinch harmonics as you hear, but that might just be due to the old strings that are on there (it was ex-demo).
also, i can hear what annoys people so much: that fizzy top end. it isn't as exaggerated as everyone says it is though, so it is tolerable.
its good for shred solos tho (if i could shred well!)
the only problem with the floyd is that the stock arm is a bit loose, but it can be fixed easily. otherwise no problems!

overall, an awesome guitar, considering i only got it for £435!!! (535 from america, then parents paid 100 towards it as my main birthday and xmas prezzies)

sorry for the topic hijack, tricalibur...

EDIT: also the dimebucker sounds a bit too scooped, and is lacking i huge amount of bottom end for my liking :)

There are non calibrated sets, of course different makes offer different sets but the Fender 57/62's are non calibrated, each pickup is the same as the original Fender pickups were, although I think the middle may now be RWRP.
Calibrated sets like the Fender Texas specials ( I'm using Fender just as a reference - BKP are much better) are calibrated so each pickup neck, middle and bridge has a different "k" reading, getting hotter towards the bridge.
Most pickup sets today have got a hotter bridge pickup with the middle and bridge both the same.

I was talking about BKPs only - my point was that if he buys a WP bridge now then comes back & buys a WP neck in a few weeks, he'll have the same pickups as he would have if he had bought a WP calibrated set in the first place - i.e. the pickups you get in a set are not somehow mysteriously different...
