You may have some foam or rubber under your pickups to hold them steady so use that and mount the BKPs into body exactly the same as the ones you have now, no need for pickup rings :D

I had to adjust height of the pole screws of the Rebel Yell set for my Axis, as the screws were too long under the base plate to fit nicely when on body mounted. But after slight adjustment, it was fine.

One shitety thing: You might have to increase the size of the mounting hole in the pickup for the screws to fit. However, that will make it unuseable for ring mounting.

bugger.
i want to avoid routing bits of the guitar as much as possible.
the rings will look better on it anyway, but i've heard they can get really annoying feedback problems.
i need to check whether i can actually fit the rings in the first place (i am not too sure if the neck pup touches the fretboard)...

Another thing to bear in mind - see how long the "legs" of your current pickus are.  BKPs are available with long or short legs.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

The vertical part of the baseplate's metal tabs/legs (not the overall depth of the pickup, although that could also be an issue - coil and magnet thicknesses vary too).

I don't have BKPs here that I can measure, but a Gibson humbucker has long legs - about 1/2" - and a DiMarzio has short ones - about 1/4".  What are your current pickups?

You might be able to measure them without removing the pickups, depends on the guitar.

Hmm, I don't know anything about Maverick pickups. :?

I looked at a couple of pictures of Mavericks and I don't think there's room for a mounting ring, the neck pup looks really close to the fingerboard.

I think it would be worth taking them out, doing a few measurements and checking with Tim and the guys before placing an order.

yeah, but i just changed the strings and don't fancy restringing the floyd again.
Looking at Tim's Music Man the uncovered Pups would be compatible...
But i want a covered version, are they bigger?

A cover does make the pickup a little bigger - I had to do a tiny bit of routing to fit my Riff Raff in my SG.

It's not a big difference though.  Again, it'll depend on how they've routed your particular guitar.
