Would amps from Germany work in the UK? As in the voltage and the pin shape etc.

I'm prepared to be proved wrong but most amps have a switch between 110/230 volt use, and if not then most of Europe uses 220v and the UK uses 240v. Consequenty pretty much all electrical appliances sold in the EU are rated at 230v so that they work with both. You will of course need a UK plug on the end of your lead though.

Yep, as above - you just need a kettle lead with a 3 pin uk plug on it. Ask the IT department at your workplace; they'll have hundreds of the buggers.

yeah, you need a british plug/power supply/kettle lead.
