Splawn Quickrod Ballad clip..
I used a Fender Strat and a Gibson Les Paul on this clip, classic guitars and both sound great through my Quickrod.

did you post this over at rig-talk too? I think I saw it there as well!

excellent clip, great playing, great tone, great vibe. There's a really nice smoothness to the Quickrod's tone that I hear in most of the clips, I'm guessing some of that is the EL34's...

I just can't get it with my savage se (at high volumes)... the aggressiveness of the 6L6's kind of takes over. Still sounds awesome, mind, but yeah, all these splawn clips aren't helping out the ol' GAS...

did you do the clean tones with the QR as well?

What settings do you use on your Quickrod btw? I'm curious to see what other people use. I <3 my new QR.

Cheers

bedroom volume? cleans too? to quote sean connery, "this is intolerable!".

Garg, I hate GAS.

I suspect an engl savage se + quickrod would sound amazing, anyone agree?

great tone, can't wait for my splawn to arrive should be this week or next.. god i can't wait any longer!!!

a lot of people do this "zero" treble sound with the splawn, it to me sounds a bit too smooth when you do that and not enough bite, but yea still hear that great characteristics of the amp!

yummy!!
