There's a guy on youtube who does loads of tubescreamer type pedal comparison videos, I'm fairly sure he uses one. Off the top of my head I can't remember his name or a link (or even if he does try the cowther!) but I think I found him via the d*a*m website (again, can't remember the link. I'm really cr@p today- getting home from work at 10pm doesn't help)

do a search as theres been a few mentions of hotcakes on the site here.

Theres a couple of folks on here use them, I remember because i was thinking of one for dirtying up my 12 string.

I don't have one, but I don't like them at all (probably explains why I don't have one, lol). it always sounds to me like a not-so-good tubescreamer, for extra cash.

I had one, it's best with the gain upto around 3/4, any higher and it's more of a fuzz (which is cool in it's own right).

I like my modded SD-1 better and there's about £100 between the price of each of 'em.
