Have you got a trem on your Eggle? I've found with some guitars that playing certain notes can cause the tremolo springs to resonate.

Oh, and where is this Emporium of which you speak?

Sounds like you're sorted; I was going to echo froglord, if your PE(orPJE nowadays I suppose) has a trem, as trem springs sometimes act just like a reverb spring.
Am glad these fine guitars have swum rather than sunk, as I was starting to fear a few years ago.
Until recently I had a '93 Berlin Pro that seemed to want to do those "chimes" as if genetically programmed: trem spring, truss rod nut, a warble as the neck adjusted from summer to autumn and action went a bit too low...I know these things can be common to many guitars but the fact that yours is an Eggle just got me down memory lane...

Dave, Blue, Kilby.

The word on fastfude at any rate is that the emporium is no longer closing down. The partnership behind it is breaking up, however, so Big Neil will no longer be the manager (a crying shame, by the way!), but the shop will still be staying.

What's really shocking is the amount of local bands prepared to do a benefit gig to relieve the financial pressure the shop is under, which is insane when you think about it.

So, as far as I know, no closing down sale, but there may be a bit of a clearance to allow for some slightly more saleable stock to come in.

(By the way as well, those "Prototype" eggles aren't officially meant to be on sale. Apparently the Eggle Rep started giving them / selling them to shops at knockdown prices. Eggle themselves are not even a wee bit happy about it!!)

Errrr further subject hijacking.

Theres a lot of issues with the Eggle management these days from all accounts which is a shame theres more info over at http://www.patrickeggleguitars.org from former staff. Apparently the factory was closed (without telling the staff), and nobody seems quite sure where they are made now (wierd or what !)

The company that owned the store also owned Eggle at the same time hence the quantity of 'new old stock' instruments.

Blue: thanks for the info, though I couldn't find mention of the Emporium, their website was closed on the 9th of Jan (according to their whois entry).

Anyway normal service will be resumed
