From what I could see when I re-wired my Gordon Smith Graduate 60, they don't do much (if anything) different to a 'standard' Gibson wiring scheme aside from push/pull controls for coil tap and Treble Bleed circuitry on the tone control :)

In regards of what?

The colour-coded wires in the pickup cable.  As far as I can remember from my old GS 2-60, they don't use the typical 4-conductors-plus-shield wire.  I think it was a braided shield/ground plus just 2 conductors - the "hot" wire and a "coil-split" wire connecting the junction of the 2 pickup coils to the push-pull pot.

My memory may be playing tricks though, I'm going back 15+ years.  And they may have changed in the meantime.

Funny how I can remember things 15-20 years ago but forget what I was doing yesterday.  That's old age for you...

Those GSG pickups are pretty good.  I put DiMarzios in my GS 2 but when I sold it I put the originals back, and it actually sounded much better.  :roll:

Yes, I have a GS 1, but not with the usual humbucker - it had a P-90 which I replaced with a Gibson P-100, and I added a Duncan Hot Stack in the neck position.

Haven't played it for years though, the neck is too skinny!  I'm used to Gibsons nowadays.

Couldn't agree more!  My green SG-X is an ugly little beast but it's my absolute favourite.

For several years I've had some half-baked idea about turning the GS into my slide guitar.  Shame I can't play slide to save my life  :roll: .   I don't plan to buy any guitars this year (we'll see about that...!) so I want to get some of my dusty/rusty old ones up and running again.

What, altogether?  About 20 I think, which is bloody stupid for someone who plays as badly as I do.  They're not all in working order though.

The ones I play are my green Gibson SG-X, Pete Townshend SG, The Paul SL, Edwards Flying V and my Am Std Hardtail Strat.  And my 1965 Melody Maker (my only vintage guitar!).

"On the bench" (works in progress):  PRS SE EG and a Tele I'm putting together from a mixture of Fender parts (it was an American Ash Tele, but I'm replacing the body).

Then the second division are a Double Fat Strat (also hardtail), Gibson Firebird Studio, another SG-X and Thinline Tele.

Semi-retired or just plain knackered: Spirit Steinberger copy, Gordon Smith GS 1, 1981 Hamer Special (my first "proper" guitar) and 3 (or maybe 4) home-made Superstrat type things.

Plus I have 3 basses and an acoustic which I hardly ever touch.

That's about it!   :)
