This is a new track i recorded a few mins ago since i've rewired my cabinate and installed the beam blockers.. sounds 100000 times better.

Er, yeah, it sounds smoother. Could you do a more 80's type clip with the newly wired and beam blockered cab to let us hear how it does that?

This hasnt helped my Splawn gas at all! Sounds really good. Fancy doing some Van Halen/other 80s stuff clips with this setup? :D

James do you reckon a VHII would sound too bright/thin in a Charvel? I think its an alder body (although could be basswood, need to research it more), with a vintage 6 screw trem and maple fingerboard (not sure about neck material). And can Irish Tours get a smooth fluid lead tone ala Maiden (The Trooper has amazing lead tone!) or are they a bit too raw and dry for that - more of a SRV/Gallagher sound?

bit to raw and dry with the splawn tom, but they've handled the high gain thing really well on other amps.. i've not played an amp that responds like this before it's strange.. but not in a bad way.

^ just a heads up on the BB's- they sometimes don't fit- there was a letter in guitar buyer this month complaining about that.

mine fit absolutely fine.. and they've got slotted holes so i cant see why they wouldnt..

yea the BB's make a lot of difference just makes it sound more like a recorded amp.. than something so directional and harsh.

there was definitely a guy who wrote in. I think it was something to do with rear-loaded cabs. or maybe front-loaded. I can't remember, to be honest. I can look it up if you're interested.

(also, this is just what I read in the mag- the guy could have been an absolute tool, lol)
